    Milligan's TORTURE DUNGEON on HULU.com

It's a horrible looking transfer from an old VHS (you can barely make out the letters on the title card) but nudity and gore seem to be intact.

Honestly, I got 10 minutes in and lost the endurance test...UNTIL I read some of the HULU users' comments in which people rip on it mercilessly, so I had to go back to it. Got another 10 minutes logged and then went to bed. I will finish it though.

BTW - HULU also had the brothel doc CHICKEN RANCH for free last week.

ADDED: prior to the film starting there are two cards that come up - one that says "FILM AROUND THE WORLD" that looks new(er), and one that says "RAINBOW RESTORATION, New York, New York"

Judging by this version of TORTURE DUNGEON I would not hire those guys to restore my movie.

I have a DVD-R of this somewhere. Or maybe it's another Milligan movie and I'm getting it confused. Either way, I'd like to see more of his work presented properly on DVD even if the vast majority of it is horrible.

I remember when I had my brief Milligan obsession following my reading of THE GHASTLY ONE. Matt said it wouldn't last. It didn't.

However, DUNGEON (next to FLESHPOT ON 42ND ST.) is now something of a fave, I love those costumes!

BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS is on YouTube, but it would appear to be from the Video Kart (cut) print, I remember the opening murder being not quite so subliminal on the old Midnight tape!

There's a great part in DUNGEON when a dude asked this lady if she wants a ride back to the castle on his horse, which we never see. She says she'd rather walk 'cuz you know there's no fuckin' way Milligan would spend cash renting a horse.

Do you know how much horses cost? They eat a lot you know.

Miller, I had the same fleeting Milligan obsession caused by the same book. It sort of lasted. It comes and goes in waves. I revisited The Ghastly Ones not so long ago and Vapors as well. Vapors I think is actually really well made and interesting. Possibly the most successfully artistic of his films that I've seen.

I think that if Milligan had stuck with making sexploitation - gay or straight - he'd have a much better reputation, up there with the Findlays or Joe Sarno. You know - a semi-decent director, as opposed to inept and lazy.

You're probably right but the output wouldn't have been as loopy or curiously fascinating - as horrible as most of it is.

Have you seen The Weirdo? It's later era, 1989.

    Neat VHS cover:

Isn't Dr Tarr's Torture Dungeon a weird retitling of Moctezuma's Mansion Of Madness?

No, but I have CARNAGE on VHS. Watched it back when I was drinking so I have no clue what went on in it. I need SURGIKILL.
