Staten Island is a weird mix of urban decay, suburbia, mafia mansions and strip malls. Very unlike the rest of the city.

    And Queens is the best!

Alright, just for Dom and Mark.

First up... the big damn post office in Manhattan, open 365 days a year, 24/7. It's an entire city block. It's pretty neat inside, though they could clean it up a bit.

After that? A weird door that leads to two very different businesses upstairs - one that sells spy equipment and one that will teach you how to pole dance. Oh, and there's an Asian massage parlor up there as well I think.

Lastly, for today, one that I thought was funny. This is a neat old RC Church around the corner from the office. On the side they have a little shop/welcome center with a quaint prayer garden on the top. It's genuinely nice and a peaceful little reprieve in a very loud, busy part of the city. I guess now they're selling ad space on the side wall, which I don't recall seeing there before... and they're selling it to a casino, haha.

I love churches in NYC, especially the old ones that are jammed into the middle of two brand new buildings.

Yeah, rats and asbestos go together like suppositories and barbed wire.

I meant to post pictures of this when it went up a couple of weeks ago. This is around the corner from my office.

    It's sad, but also beautiful.
