William Friedkin Turning Killer Joe Into A TV Series

    Source.

“It’s set among the millionaires and billionaires, who have their wives or business competitors killed,” Friedkin teased. “Joe is a hired killer who frames bad guys for the murders who can’t get arrested for something else, or he makes them look like suicides. He becomes a kind of avenging angel in the series because he doesn’t just kill anybody for hire. He has to feel that guy in some way deserves to go.”

I'm not entirely opposed to this but I cant help but be skeptical about a few things. McConaughey not playing Joe is hardly a shock, the thing that sticks out the most is the change of setting. The whole white trash, trailer park vibe of the film is one of the things that made it work so well. Also this would probably have to be on HBO or another premium cable channel to even come close to capturing the attitude of the film.

Now I want to see the movie again. One of the best in recent memory.

I agree fully with Tom Clark, except I am quite opposed to it as it feels like a giant waste of everyones time and effort.
