Ad Nauseam: Newsprint Nightmares From the 1980's

    http://ew.com/books/2018/06/26/horror-movie-ad-nauseam/

Published by 1984 Publishing, this 248-page, full-color, hardbound book showcases over 450 newspaper ads for horror films, including Friday the 13th, The Evil Dead, and Re-Animator, as well as a whole lot of less well-remembered titles. Ad Nauseam also features annotations, and excerpts from reviews of more than 60 movies, and interviews with the men behind exploitation distributor Aquarius Releasing.

I could get down with this if it's priced right.

Also it's cool, but surprising, the EW of all places is covering this.

Nice. Much slicker than buying a binder from a dead guy.

I was gonna make a comment like that yesterday but didn't because I couldn't think of the right way to phrase it.

Succinct and to the point. Well played.

Full color, but all movie ads are B & W, no?
I have no interest in the 80's but in general, this is a fun idea.

If you look at the preview pages in the EW link it looks like they've worked some color into the text areas and left the ads B&W.

Maybe there will be ads that ran in the 80's but were actually for revivals of films from the 70's. When I was in Texas in the early to mid 80's, I saw a few flicks playing under alternate titles, such as DEAD PEOPLE (MESSIAH OF EVIL), TWISTED THROAT (HOLLYWOOD 90028), and IT CAME FROM THE GRAVE (DEATHDREAM). It would be pretty awesome if some of these would be preserved in the book.

Damn, this will be fun to flip through! When I was a kid, I cut out movie ad's from any paper I could get a hold of. I still remember huge ad's for Fulci's Zombie and Gates of Hell in the local paper. I'd snip porn ad's, too. I'd love a book filled with horror, exploitation, & porn ads from newspapers all over the country!
