    This really blows. Buzzcocks were the best of the British punks. Shelley was unparalleled when it came to vocal melodies.

    RIP PETE SHELLEY of the Buzzcocks. Shelley and the band never quite got their due here in the States. Back in the day, they were overshadowed by the Clash, Joy Division and the Sex Pistols, but, in their own way, they were equally important. Maybe only the Ramones had more direct influence on the sound of punk. Shelley's 'Homo Sapiens' was a grand solo hit, as well.
