JCVD Cyborg comic from Cannon Video???

Every month or so I hit the local comic shop and spend an hour digging through the cheap bins. The other day did this and found...

What I can find out is this was a video store promo. Not many made. And doesn't seem to appear too often online.

    Wow! Happy reading!

I remember when CYBORG came out on video over here. The posters seemed to be everywhere: the film had a big 'push' in terms of marketing. It's hard to imagine a similar film achieving that today.

It was a one-shot that was given away.

It's worth about $14 in fine condition about $5 in good condition.

I remember going to the video store when HOUSE II came out and they were giving away a free Marvel adaptation:

I think I got one for Batman Mask of the Phantasm too.

I've got a copy of the comic book adaptation of TOTAL RECALL somewhere which is signed by the writer. I think that was published by Marvel too (though I'd have to check), and I've also got the Marvel-published comic book adaptation of BLADE RUNNER in the attic somewhere. I remember picking up comic book adaptations of GHOSTBUSTERS II and INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE in the foyer of the cinema when I went to see those films on their original release, but I can't remember who published them. (They're also in the attic, I think.)

It's a shame that kind of 'synergy' has died out since the 1980s.

    I have Cyborg envy.

Used to love reading movie adaptations as a kid. Especially when I was too young to see the films at the cinema (in the days where a VHS release would take a year). I already knew 15 cert movies like Gremlins, Blade Runner and the Conan flicks from their comic books before I ever got to see them.

Some hilariously bad ones too: Close Encounters and Terminator 2 were clearly drawn without reference to any publicity stills.
I'm bitter, I'm twisted, James Joyce is fucking my sister.

Yeah, I've got a copy of it as well. It doesn't seem to be super uncommon.
