Locke And Key Headed To Television

    From Fangoria:

"For fans of Joe Hill & Gabriel Rodriguez’s LOCKE AND KEY, the page-to-screen process of the critically and commercially successful comic book has been a horror story in-and-of itself. Following the Mark Romanek-directed pilot, which was not picked up by FOX despite a head-turning screening at San Diego Comic Con in 2011, fans eagerly hoped that the property would eventually make its way to the big screen or- at the very least- be given a second chance in the evolving TV landscape. Now it seems their prayers have been answered, as IDW Entertainment has announced that a second pilot has been commissioned, with the series being developed independently with Circle of Confusion, the production entity behind AMC’s THE WALKING DEAD."

NICE! This was the best series I've read in ages; hoping this comes to fruition!

The first episodes a bit of fun. Fits into whats becoming a subgenre now, show that feel like 80s kids films but with adult content because they are not made for kids, they are made for those of us who were kids in the 80s. It's an odd subgenre but it works for me. Also must be nice for kids now. Modern kids stuff is so safe it must be nice to have access to stories like this where there's a bit of that adult content we took for granted in our family films.

Theres a couple decent scares and it looks fabulous. Lot of Shining references in here. Interested if that was in the comic or not. Was Hill making references to his dad's work or have the show runners just thrown those in because it's sort of King related? There's a couple Bates motel references as well for Carlton Cuse but it's not too obnoxious.

This wasn’t as bad as it could have been, it the youngest kid is a stupid character played by an annoying actor. Might torrent season 2 if there’s nothing else to watch.
