Quite a few times actually. Spent more time at the farm colony buildings and old hospital buildings on that side. Farm colony side was always easy to get into, since there weren't any guards. You just had to stay clear of the working morgue. I especially liked going at night for that extra creep factor. That was pre-cellphones and we never thought to bring cameras. Hell, we were lucky if we had flashlights. We explored a few abandoned buildings around Staten Island back then. Now I kind of wish I had some pictures.

I took a bunch when we went a few years ago, but the working morgue at Farm Colony was definitely gone by then and I think there were squatters in the basement I attempted, but then decided against, going into. When we went, Farm Colony was mostly being used as a paintball location. And yes, as you say, very easy to get into.

Yeah, I saw that the Farm Colony had become a paintball location last time I was in there. Had to be maybe 10 years ago. The morgue building became a NYC Parks Dept recreational facility back in 2007. I honestly don't know when the building actually stopped functioning as a morgue, but there were vehicles parked there prior to construction. It was being used for something back then, official or not, so we always stayed away. Squatters were always rumored, but I never ran into any during my visits. The only people we ran into were other kids checking the place out. But there were certainly plenty of signs of other people being there. The craziest thing I can remember was a burnt out car on one of the roads. I'm surprised the entire place never went up in flames.

My favorite building in the the Farm Colony (not my picture):

I know that building! When we were there, which would have been... 7 years ago maybe... the bridge didn't really look too safe but I remember seeing it and probably have pictures somewhere from our trip.
