The Bride With White Hair Coming To Blu-ray

I love this movie and would jump all over a proper Blu-ray release but that text in the bottom right corner of the cover gives me pause.

That's especially baffling since the film received a proper HD BD release in China two years ago:

The English subtitles on that disc are a bit of a mess but I was pleased with the audio/video side of things.

Yeah, that MLIFE version is the source used by the copy shops in HK which is the one that I have with the proper mono audio. Even that version had some issues. I recall Spectrum was supposed to bring out their Blu Ray but don't know if it's the same source. Spectrum is also up and down with their releases with some titles showing bad compression and poor encoding. So unfortunately, it's still the case with these HK films that there are no definitive versions and it's a matter of picking the lesser of two evils (crap remixes vs better transfers vs poor subs). Unless you spend the time to create your own custom. With ADC going kaput, those customs are not readily available anymore.

Nope, I don't recall a spectrum films release ever having English subs or English audio.

I have to amend my previous statement about Asian films from Spectrum Films not having English audio or subs as the upcoming KHAVN box set will be English friendly.

I'll have to dig my copy out, I haven't watched in a few years. If it looks bad I'll probably upgrade.

I didn’t see this until 1996, and kept cracking up every time someone mentioned the Wu-Tang Clan.
