    MGM for sale...

    ...and interested in selling themselves to a streaming giant. I initially got excited reading the above article thinking that the MGM library in the hands of a Netflix or whatever could potentially be an amazing thing. But then halfway through there's this line: "even if most of the classic MGM library before 1986 is now owned by Warner Bros./AT&T thanks to a deal with Ted Turner in the ‘80s". I was unaware of this deal. So we'd still be waiting on Warners to get their streaming act together for the good stuff...

    I thought Fox had most of their back catalog stuff - maybe that was just a temporary deal that's now expired?

    Just a distribution deal. I think it expires this year, so that may be why the owners are now looking to sell.
