    Odd films get nominated for oscars e.g. Dogtooth (the Greek entry) being one of the 5 nomiated. The odd thing about Dogtooth being nominated was that it opened in Greece in November 2009,after the cut off date foroscar submition, but somehow got nominated over a year (ie at 83rd Oscars) after it opened in its home country unlike Blue is the Warmest Colour which should have been sent whatever, even if it was a year after like Dogtooth.

    Actually, by being released in November it DID make DOGTOOTH eligible for the NEXT year's Oscars. That coincided with its USA release. BLUE missed the deadline for its main year and was 'old news' by the next Academy Awards

    And, it hit Streaming rental this week for as little as $5 on Microsoft's site.
