New Cannon Films Documentary - Electric Boogaloo!

Drafthouse Films has acquired rights to documentary "Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films" and plans a theatrical release for late 2012 to coincide with a traveling roadshow retrospective of Cannon's seminal films.

    Details at Variety here.

Somewhere in Sweden a man whose name is not Joe just got a boner.

So obviously the Drafthose will do a theatrical run with this, but they've picked up a few other titles lately - I wonder if there's a home video division in the works?

And given that it's by the guy who did Not Quite Hollywood and Machete Maidens, I expect nothing short of greatness.

Not Quite Hollywood I really liked, but I got to say Machete Maidens wasn't what I'd hoped. Seemed more like a New World Pictures doc. I wanted to see more of the stuff I'd never heard of. And of course more of the little guy. Where's all the Search For Weng Weng material?

CANNON defined my high school years, thanks to their Chuck Norris and AMERICAN NINJA flicks, and, of course, LIFEFORCE!
