    Corman's 60's gothic horrors

I guess we can start a discussion on these, about whatever aspect we want. First part I'll mention is these two coming from Germany soon:

    THE HAUNTED PALACE (5/25): http://www.kochmedia-film.de/blu-ray...tered_blu_ray/

    PREMATURE BURIAL (8/24): http://www.kochmedia-film.de/blu-ray...raben_blu_ray/

Both are English-friendly and claim to be HD remastered, too.

Man, there are some awesome MGM catalogue titles coming out in Germany on Blu, huh? Kind of odd.

Would love to get a boxed set of these on Blu-ray without having to pay high import prices, but that's probably not going to happen. If the quality on these are good I might bite though. I'd be more interested in Masque of Red Death than the others but both Premature Burial and Haunted Palace... very tempting.

Have any of you bought the new(ish) bluray/dvd of THE TERROR? Until that release came out all we had was crappy versions on dvd in fullscreen and the best of the lot looked like a tv print. Some of the Amazon customers say this release looks pretty good and is even in letterbox.

I have it. It's the best looking I've ever seen it. It's well worth picking up.

There are a bunch of screen caps here. The DNR isn't as bad on this disc as on some of the company's other releases - and yeah, it's a pretty nice improvement over the previous DVD issues. I have a soft spot for that movie.

I really Like the Haunted Palace and consider it a fairly good adaption of CDW, but I honestly can't say I feel the need to upgrade to bd for this one.

The MGM HD broadcast is the real knockout.

Didn't you do a screen cap comparison of that somewhere Ben? Or am I imagining that?
