Arrow Releasing Jim Van Bebber's Deadbeat At Dawn

Jim Van Bebber posted this on FB:

""Very pleased to announce that "Deadbeat at Dawn" has found it's new home with the impeccable Arrow Video, slated for a 4K transfer from the original A&B rolls (supervised by me) and a long overdue Bluray release on it's 30th anniversary.""

Good fun and impressive movie, but are they insane? Hope they don't incur the wrath of JVB like Synapse and Severin did.

The samples overlaid on metal music shall be interesting.

So Arrow confirmed that yes, what Van Bebber posted is true, more details to follow.

I guess it's officially official now.

It's a cool movie, and I'm sure that Arrow will do their usual best, but they're just asking for trouble. Van Bebber will probably threaten them and start filing lawsuits at any point, but at least he'll be able to get drunk on proper booze before Arrow pull the plug. Hopefully, they'll see what Synapse and Severin had to put up with and place some sort of confidentiality/libel clause on him.

i like to think that maybe this could help generate some financing for another movie

I hope the short films are included. Or is it just one short film- "Roadkill"? I sold the dvd so I'll pick up Arrow's release.

I like that Jim's thrashed engineer boots come apart near the end. The heel on one comes flying off.

When did Severin try working with him? I know about the issues Synapse had but I don't remember reading anything about Severin.

If they're still out there the messages that Jim left on Don May's answering machine are hilarious.
