    New York City street films

As a born & raised New Yorker (transplanted out west) who went to school there and used to make films there, I'm very interested in gathering films made on the streets of the Big Apple. Especially grungy films made by independents and documentarians in the 1950s through the 1970s. Some of the drama student and theater people I mixed with turn up in the the forgotten indies of the 1970s. Part of the appeal of 1970s blaxploitation films for me is the location photography showing the city I knew at the time. Anyhow, I'm making a list of NYC street films. What's missing? Anyone care to contribute some titles to this list:

1953 Little Fugitive -- Morris Engel
1953 Fear and Desire -- Stanley Kubrick
    1955 Killer's Kiss -- Stanley Kubrick
1956 The Killing -- Stanley Kubrick
1956 On the Bowery -- Lionel Rogosin
    1959 Shadows -- John Cassavetes
1961 Blast of Silence -- Allen Baron
1961 Dark Odyssey -- Radley Metzger
1961 The Young Savages -- John Frankenheimer
1962 The Connection -- Shirley Clarke
1962 Satan In High Heels -- Jerald Intrator
1963 America, America -- Elia Kazan
1963 The Moving Finger -- Larry Moyer
1964 The Cool World -- Shirley Clarke
1968 Confessions of a Psycho Cat -- Herb Stanley
1969 Who's That Knocking at My Door -- Martin Scorsese
    1970 Joe -- John G. Avildsen
1971 Little Murders -- Alan Arkin
1973 Sisters -- Brian DaPalma -- Staten Island is NYC too
1975 Abigail Lesly Is Back In Town -- Joseph Sarno -- Long Island counts as well
    1975 Laura's Toys -- Joseph Sarno -- Long Island
    1978 Girlfriends -- Claudia Weill

Off the top of my head:

Everything done in the Cinema of Transgression.

    Basket Case.

There must be shit loads of B films made and shot in Manhattan but Basket Case sticks out the most to me.
"Ah! By god's balls what licentiousness!"

Marquis de Sade, The 120 Days of Sodom.

Every seventies porno movie made on the east coast is bound to feature some decent location footage - most of the roughies of the sixties as well.

    A few more obvious omissions:

    Taxi Driver
    Hardcore
    Death Wish
    Rock! Shock! Pop!

Also, great thread. I love NY films, especially when New York was a little more rough around the edges.
