Shout! Factory releasing new Pogues compilation!

Probably only of interest to casual fans who don't already have everything and/or completists.

    From their Twitter feed:

"Just announced! The Very Best Of The Pogues 18-track CD, out Jan 22. Includes 8-pg book with new liner notes."

No idea what the track listing is yet.

Love me some Pogues...but, like you said, this one is for the casual fan i think!

can they REALLY call it BEST OF THE POGUES with ONLY 18 tracks though??

The thing is, there was already a collection put out called The Best Of The Pogues, then another one called The Rest Of The Best, and now we're at The Very Best?

I'd rather hear a new album but that'll never happen. Once that boxed set came out I figured that was the last of it.

They still have room for a VERY BEST OF THE VERY BEST OF THE POGUES......and then THE VERY BEST OF THE REST OF THE POGUES.....

That'd be the two albums without Shane? In all fairness, they had some good songs on them and in the case of Tuesday Morning, one great one.

You can see Shane bopping around with Union Jack on his back in some of the footage in Don Letts' Punk Rock Movie.

In his bio Johnny Rotton takes a casual dig at Shane for "changing nationality" when he started The Pogues and swapped his Union Jack for the Irish Tricolour.

Yeah, I remember that. Shane's half English though, if I remember correctly, so I guess he can get away with it.
