My fave one of these is the american VHS release of the Anime NAUSSICA OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND (released as "Warriors of The Wind"). It literally looks as if the illustrator never saw the movie, as NONE of those characters looks remotely like any characters in the film, aside for the girl in the blue dress on the rocket glider thing, which looks kinda like the lead character, but her glider looks nothing like that.

Also "A band of young warriors"??? There is no band of young warriors in this. There is no pegasus. There is no robot skeleton in a cloak. It's all total bullshit.

True, but the poster is awesome beyond words!

That's a framed, rec-room worthy poster right there.

That box art IS bullshit, but if I can pick a nit, the big thing on the bottom does kinda look like a melting Hephastus as seen on the page you linked to, and the guy on the right also looks like a Hephastus as shown when they flash back to the "Seven Days of Fire". He's just about 200 ft. too short.

It looks like the artist got drunk and remembered he had a deadline the next day and in his stupor mixed up Naussica, Dune, Clash of the Titans and some random Italian post-apocalypse movie.

Cool job if you can get it...don't watch the movie, just interpret what you THINK it is about!

TIP: Remember, poster artists, your customer is the marketing department, and they haven't seen the movie either.
