Cool. And, lucky for me, a whole swag of the Thai pressings of the Shaw discs are starting to see re-release with English subs (for a brief time, all of the reissues were authored without the original English subs; however, that's reverted back to with them again now). Thus, come spare cash time, I'll pick up a bunch of stuff that's been OOP in HK for a while.

Not SB viewing related but still worth mentioning is this piece on Run Run Show, now retiring at the age of 104.

Coming from Well Go USA 4/24/12.

I'm not in love with the cover art but it's nice to see the line continuing after a hiatus.

Yay! Now the real question... buy them individually on or near the release, or wait for the inevitable combo set.......

So The New One Armed Swordsman very quietly got a Blu-ray release in Germany.

    A poster at Blu-ray.com says:

"Not listed on here but it looks great, English subs and the old English dub in a SE package..."

Could there be more Shaw Blu's in Germany in the works?

    Dig the cover art.

Wonder how this compares to the HK blu. I don't have that one, but I have the HK blu for the first One-Armed Swordsman flick and it was a pretty great release...

Asian Action Cinema has pointed out that there are Blu-ray releases slated for the three films in the One Armed Swordsman Trilogy due 1/8/13 in Hong Kong. The article says they're coming in March but the links to Yes Asia show the 1/8/13 release date and DDDHouse.com confirms that date.

Watched Super Inframan last night with a few friends - it got picked over Alien From The Deep. Haven't seen it in a few years but it all came back pretty quickly. This has got to be one of the most colorful, crazy, everything but the kitchen sink superhero movies sever made. Obviously it borrows from loads of Japanese movies and TV shows and evidently would influence American TV shows like Yo! Gabba Gabba but dammit if it's impossible not to smile the entire time this movie was one.

A friend summed it up perfectly - 'This movie is just ninety minutes of a goody guy fighting crazy bad guys.' That pretty much nails it.
