Overall, underwhelmed by the season as a whole. I mean, it could've gone a lot worse for a return what some consider sacred ground, but I don't feel that I'm any further ahead in life for having watched it.

I hope to hell they're not going to take those other two agents...the one with the Six Feet Under girl...and give them a show. That would be a bad idea.

I liked the series, it didn't go in the direction I thought it would except for the last episode and to me that was good. As for the last episode, well it reminded me of when I became less of a fan of the series. I guess it leads to the next season, although I have never heard of it getting renewed, or perhaps a tv movie to resolve it. It was nice to see Annabeth Gish again (I know she has been in a number of series but not the ones I watch).

Looks like Fox is bringing it back for another 10 episode run.

Is the new season any good? X-Files is one of those shows that I've been meaning to get into but for whatever reason never got into it.

Definitely not the place to start. a) it's pretty disappointing and b) it's got two or three out of the 6 episodes that are building on it's already incomprehensible lore. Which is the stuff that stopped everyone watching it in the first place.
