Did some work on a short film last week and shot some stills during the production. This is perhaps my favourite:

Had three shoots yesterday. Here's a couple of them.

Took a week or so off over Xmas but still been busy. The first is something different. I got a new lens and got to try it out taking photos of my niece Agatha outside. I basically never take photos outside so something totally different for me. Not the best photo I got of her photographically speaking but I love the intensity. She looks like a youngling at her first day at the Jedi academy.

Then more of my standard studio stuff:

    Playing with coloured lights:

And lastly, a Xmas card photo for the girlfriend:

Those are all nice but the one of your niece is the coolest because it's just a rad picture of a kid being a kid, you can't pose that.

Yeah, exactly. At that age her comprehension is on about the same level as my cats and, like my cats, she is disinclined to do anything she's told. So I just follow her around with a long lens and hope she steps into a spot with good light.

Promo image I had to put together for a SinCity shoot day I've got coming up.

Spent a while on this one. Largely built and lit in 3d, rendered in keyshot, before flattening and final compositing in photoshop.

Cheating as I've posted a shot from both of these shoots before but what the hell? I dig both of these.
