    BLACK EMANUELLE films and offshoots

Which edition of Bitto Albertini's Black Emanuelle (1975) should I get? It is not included in Severin's box-sets, and at first glance every edition seems edited or censored.

Richard, Stormovie released the film in Italy in a version with the h/c inserts intact. However, the inserts are just that and the softcore version plays out just as well, in my view.

    Thanks for the input.

Did Albertini and Gemser film the hardcore footage, does anyone know? Or was it added after the fact by others?

This is a franchise I would like to see make the jump to hi-def.

Gemser had nothing to do with the h/c footage. I don't think Albertini directed it either, although I could be wrong on that count. The inserts are quite jarring, to be honest.

Then the version that dvdaficianado lists as "edited" isn't really edited. It's complete? I'll settle for that, then.

    Thanks for the input, Paul.

How does Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals (1984) rate? It comes late in the series. any opinions?

Shriek Show had this all set for blu-ray release, and then changed their mind.

I think it's the 2nd best of the Gemser Emanuelle flicks personally. Probably one of the only porno/horror hybrids that works as both a horror flick and a porno (softcore anyway). I remember the old tape released in the U.S. was titled Trap Them and Kill Them and had no rating but suggested that no one under the age of 13 should watch this film.

Very fun flick. Some great gore, vintage NY scenes, genuinely erotic scenes and it's just a fun pulp flick.

Thanks, Alex. Looks like I'll have to pay a stiff price for it.

Another one I need to get Emanuelle's Daughter: Queen of Sados which is out of print everywhere. Anyone seen it around? Anyone want to part with theirs?

Like night follows day, Ian will remind you of the smoking monkey, haha. But equally important is the killer Fidenco soundtrack, one of the best in the whole series. This one is easily my favorite of the series, has much more rewatch value for me, some of the others I have to be in a certain mood for but LAST CANNIBALS I can pretty much throw on anytime.
