Thanks for all the blood, puss and jizz, Dave. RIP.

Arg. Too young. Glad that I was able to see him perform live. What a show!

I just had a friend die recently, and he was only 50 as well. Makes you think about your own mortality a bit.

Oderus would probably crack a joke (probably about crack) at the expense of his own death, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I love this band, their crazy video projects, and their crass, irreverent influence on popular culture. Ever since I've been into music, I've been into GWAR. You'll be missed Dave Brockie.

I only saw them one time, I was 16 I think. Maybe seventeen. Traveled across the border into Buffalo for the show in the freezing cold. Car problems on the way there. X-Cops opened, we were right up front and I got shot in the face when I mouthed off and gave them the finger. I think I yelled out 'fuck the police' or something like that.

We stayed up front when GWAR came on, couldn't have been closer. Got covered in everything you'd expect to be covered in at a GWAR show and had an absolute fucking blast. One of the guys I was with kept trying to swat Oderus' cuttlefish and after a few failed attempts Oderus noticed this and then basically unloaded a massive load in his face. Good times.

I remember going to school the next day and I still had dried fake blood all over the back of my neck and in my hair and noticed during lunch hour that day that the tour shirt I'd bought at the show had a penis on it. I was going to go see them this last Dec. here in NYC but got outvoted and wound up at a different show instead.

I thought that the last album was a serious return to form for them and the best thing that they'd put out in a while.
    Rock! Shock! Pop!

I remember the Scumdogs tour coming to the Concert Hall in Toronto. My mom would not have even dreamed of letting me go to a concert at that age, but friends of mine went...came to school the next day with their skater cuts and t-shirts dyed red with fake blood. Jealous.

I never got to see them. They played a show here a couple years ago as RAWG, Gwar without costumes, and I figured I'd wait til they came back with costumes on. Damn.

I only saw them once as well. They were banned in Regina (because of the mess they made at the University, and probably the Cuttlefish), but they often played in Saskatoon but with no ride as a teenager and no friends with cars I had no way of getting to see them. A few years ago the ban in Regina was lifted and I got to see them on the Lust in Space Tour. At one point in the show they met Michael Jackson in space (he'd already been dead for a few years), he smoked crack and then raped the Space Baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Oderus ripped his face off and Michael Jackson rained eye blood and cum all over me and my friends.

It was the craziest damn thing I've ever seen in a live show to this day.

GWAR was a band I have always wanted to see live since high school. I never got the chance. RIP, Brockie. Thanks for the laughs and rock.
