Shout! Factory to unleash... Scream Factory!

So that big Shout! Factory horror announcement that's been rumored for a while?

    So far they've announced:

    The Island
    Terror Train
    Halloween II
    Halloween III
    Death Valley
    Deadly Blessing
    They Live
    The Funhouse
    Phantasm II

And by announced I mean put up a Facebook page with images from those movies. Which is a pretty safe bet to mean they're coming soon.

From what I gather, they'll be Blu-ray & DVD but I haven't heard official confirmation yet.

Pretty much all those will be bought by me if they can do blu-ray. Halloween 3 is a surprise as I really like this film. Cover art looks badass!!

And this is all what the big deal was all about, re-release

I'll pass. I keep my money for interesting releases not movie released already two times or more...

They Live...I hope they get a commentary with Carpenter, Piper, and Childs.

I'm interested in most of these except for the Halloween II Blu since I just got the one released last year.

I'd never heard of Death Valley (1982) but just noticed it features a scene with "Ralphie" from A Christmas Story (1983) in Cowboy gear battling "Black Bart." Similar to the Red Rider dream sequence from A Christmas Story. I had no idea their paths had crossed a year earlier.

I think they said on facebook that everything announced will be released on DVD and Blu-ray except The Island and Death Valley, which will be DVD only and will, probably, be released as a double feature. For future releases, whether they get released on Blu or are DVD only, will be decided on a case-by-case basis.

DEATH VALLEY isn't a rerelease. In addition to Peter Billingsley from CHRISTMAS STORY it also has Paul LeMat (MELVIN AND HOWARD), in fact it has a number of "names" in the cast, at least for what it is. It's a slasher, and not a great one but the unusual setting and child protagonist make it watchable. Has at least a modicum of suspense in a couple scenes.
