Bodyguards And Assassins is pretty solid too, though he's got more of a supporting role in it his character is important and he gets one really, really bad ass scene in it. It's a long movie but really well done, good story, interesting characters - worth seeking out.

Legend of The Fist is fun in a superficial silly superhero action movie sort of way. Not at all concerned with realism, it's slick with some good fights and beautiful sets and a lot of nice period detail.

So Twitch has got a cool promo image released for Yen's upcoming Special Identity you can see here.

Hadn't really been following this one too closely but apparently Yen was douchey to co-star Vincent Zhao who was then replaced with Andy On. Details of that drama can be read here, or check this video!

Douche bag or not, I'd still like to see this, it sounds like a fun movie.

Fangoria for some reason has an interview up today with Donnie Yen about his new film, Dragon (aka Wuxia), which has just been released.

    http://www.fangoria.com/index.php/mo...dragonq-master

Not sure why Fangoria is covering Donnie Yen kung fu movies now but it's all good.

The comparisons to One Armed Swordsman piqued my interest.

Fangoria is clinging to life via anything it can cover these days I think!!!

As to Donnie Yen...I love to see his new stuff....Dont care if he is douchey off screen..as long as the goods go up ON screen...

Not sure how old he is now, but like all hte HK great fighters/actors, would prefer them to get as much on film NOW before they get too old...coz not sure who is going to pick up the torch for them lter...

He was born in 1963 so he's no spring chicken but he's still got some good years left in him.

And I'm with you, douchebag off screen or not (did we give up on JCVD when he was going through his douchebag phase? No!), he's been putting out some legitimately awesome action movies these last few years.

As Jet Li tries to distance himself from martial arts films (or occasionally claims to be) and Jackie retires and then doesn't retire and then retires again, at least Donnie is churning out solid fight films.

Yep....decent REAL martial arts actors/ choreographers are gonna be pretty thin on the ground in HK soon I fear!!!..Well, the OLD SCHOOL style anyway!!

and no, one of my creeds in life is "Never give up on the action star douchebag!"

I'd watch anything he's in. And I've seen some pretty crappy movies of his!
