They're pretty nifty! The UK one is pretty naff by comparison...

Remember this guy from a few weeks back?

My Blu-ray arrived this morning. Now I can watch both, when I have some spare time...

You can see the full-size BD capture here...

...but don't forget, I've scaled that down to a 1MB jpeg from a 6MB BMP. But still, it gives you an idea how the UK edition looks. (Pity the actual movie file is only about 17GB in size).

Looks pretty decent. When we saw it projected it had a slight sepia tint to a lot of it - looks like the BD keeps that in tact if that image is anything to go by.

The movie wasn't much but I was filled w/ glee during Yen's fight scene (finally!) with Jackie Chan in Shanghai Knights. I think I prefer Yen as a heavy.

I have to admit, I've more or less avoided almost all of Chan's American films since Rush Hour and had no idea Yen was even in Shanghai Knights.

And you haven't missed a whole lot - Shanghai Noon is a good one to watch with the folks but several of Chan's bits are lifted from his earlier, better work (the Indians match the pirates from Project A Part 2). That one's still watchable, tho', and then yeah - we finally get a fight scene between Chan and Yen in a movie that most folks didn't even see. Rush Hour 2 has its moments (Zhang Ziyi!) but Rush Hour 3 is pretty much a mess.

I enjoyed the 1st Rush Hour, tolerated the 2nd, and skipped the 3rd.

I still need to see Iron Monkey. Some say it's his best.
