This is their third release right? There was the fucking terrible initial release from back when Arrow hadn't yet had someone sit them down and explain the concept of quality control, the Zaavi exclusive (steelbook?) release which replaced their smeary mess of a transfer with the one from Wild Side, now this - which just seems to be the exclusive release repackaged for the mass market.

Well, at least it'll be the best English-friendly release on the market. Until Synapse puts out theirs.

I like the cover, but Arrow are becoming some lying bastards. They kept on saying that the only way to get the better transfer was going to be in the Zaavi exclusive steelbook and now they announce this. They said that the only way to get Withnail & I was in that big limited edition box set and they've announced a regular release of that.

Well, do they do associate themselves with 'edit - a certain genre journalist' who used to tell horror fans to watch 'decent' films like Citizen Kane....(now passes himself off as an expert on the very films he doesn't like e.g. Cannibal Holocaust - fans of which apparently only watch it to masturbate to animal mutilation, just one of his sound - not at all irrational and ever so demented - insights into why fans of the film watch the movie). Sigh.

Unless you can back up your use of the word plagiarizing I'd remove it.

As an aside, I went to a festival a few weeks back where 'edit - a certain genre journalist' was also in attendance. He was, apparently, very concerned that I was going to be there and the look on his face when he saw me was priceless. He looked liked he'd just done a poo in his pants.

The following is part of a message I once received from one genre writer, which is why I say 'plagiarist':

"(Name removed) hooked him up with me for help with an email interview with Hong Kong cinematographer & director Andrew Lau Wai-Keung -- and it became pretty apparent, pretty fast, that 'edit - a certani genre journalist' knew zero about who he was dealing with or indeed much about the HK cinema industry at all -- in fact, he showed a contempt for all of Asian cinema that was beyond immature. Stupidly, and because I didn't know him, I permitted him access to my then in-development website...then next thing I know, the little weasel's writing for Impact magazine passing himself off as an expert in Asian cinema! Suffice to say, I got wise real fast and cut off correspondence quick smart. The boy is an arse, with some serious issues ---- he was definitely complicit in the Dark Side plagiarism case (of whom, I can almost 99% with certainty name and shame the guilty parties) and rates as one of the lowest scum of the earth when it comes to genre journalism that I've ever encountered."

    How cute

At least he is not participating in the release of the film itself, which would hurt pledges & sales.
