    From the latest MV newsletter:

"We just finished an informative on-camera interview with David Sperling, cinematographer of TOXIC ZOMBIES (BLOODEATERS, FOREST OF FEAR) and other cult hits such as STREET TRASH. This interview will be included on our upcoming Blu-ray of TOXIC ZOMBIES. This film has been a tricky one to remaster as all pre-print material has been lost. The only remaining elements are 35mm theatrical prints. Luckily we have gotten our hands on a few such 35mm prints and have been working on frankensteining them together, using the best sections of each print to complete the best master possible."

I'm tempering my expectations after seeing The Devil and Mr No Legs when they put out a disclaimer that it's a Frankenstein job from release prints. Seems like they only licence titles that don't have any decent surviving elements (maybe they're cheap to acquire because of that). Men Behind the Sun must look bloody good if they're doing a UHD.

    Source.

"On Friday, February 26th, Massacre Video will premiere their new 4K restoration of the obscure 1980 video nasty TOXIC ZOMBIES on Cinematic Void's online film screening series, Cinematic Void Up All Night (accessible at cinematicvoid.com/midnight.)

For the TOXIC ZOMBIES premiere event, Jim Branscome and Massacre Video founder Louis Justin will also host a Q&A after the feature with some of the cast/crew."

Thanks to insomnia I watched it. The prints they used are fairly beat up but no major issues unlike The Devil. It's one of the better looking Massacre titles.

Boy, John Amplas is bad in this. I guess he needed a director like Romero. At least he doesn't visibly fall asleep on camera like Midnight.
