First shoot in months last night. I'd forgotten a) how heavy DSLRs get when you're lugging two around your neck for the night and b) how much editing show photos sucks.

Didn't cover myself in glory with great shots or anything but I got the job done.

My girl was working for the first time in months as well. For the last eight months I've been used to seeing her with acres of regrowth and in trackies. Strange to see her glammed again.

Glad you're able to get back into it! We're heading into another super-strict lockdown here.

Nice shots, Dom! It must feel good to get back into the swing of things after so long.

Glad you're able to get back into it! We're heading into another super-strict lockdown here.

Commisertions. The first lockdown is almost fun in a way (a wierd way) but the novelty does wear off.

We were super pleased this venue survived the lockdown. We've been using it for our large shows for years now as it holds 600 or so but right now their capacity is capped at 150. I was talking to the owner after the show. She definitely had The Fear. Lockdowns easy, she said, the government provides assistance, the rent gets cut and you hibernate. Opening up under strict restrictions and being expected to get on with it is something else. A venue of this size is not supposed to be able to run with small crowds.

We had 300 tickets to sell (two shows on the same night) and I was disappointed we couldn't move them all for her. Not sure why. Lot of factors I guess. A few days before Xmas. Expensive tickets to compensate for capacity. Sydney spooking everyone with an outbreak that took hold in a venue like this. I suppose a lot of people are still just not ready to mix in crowds.

Was fun though. We had 23 acts for the night all donating their time in a fundraiser for our new venue so it was sort of a family affair. Knew about half the people in the crowd so a ton of 'Holy shit how's the last 9 months been for you?!' I do remember why I was pleased to hang up my camera though. I shot 145gb of images and I'll be spending another half day today sifting through them after 5 or 6 hours yesterday. It's a mind numbing job.
